Murrieta: Construction worker killed in industrial accident identified
The suspect brandished a knife and demanded cash from employees. No customers were present. The suspect opened the cash register and removed an undisclosed amount of currency before fleeing the business on foot. The business owner believed he recognized the suspect as an ex-employee. Deputies and officers located and detained the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Albert Torres, of Murrieta Attorney, who had just arrived at his residence on his bicycle. Just prior to being contacted by deputies, Torres had paid rent to his landlord using small denomination bills which are believed to have been stolen during the commission of the robbery. During a search of Torres' residence, deputies located the weapon and clothing used by the suspect during the robbery, as well as unlawfully possessed prescription narcotics and an illegal short-barrel rifle. Torres was arrested and booked at the Southwest Detention Center on charges of robbery, possession of an unlawful firearm, and possession of a controlled substance.

It was incredible. Early last week, Singleton was moved from the first leg to the anchor of the 400-relay team due to handoff problems with the baton. "Its kind of scary because if you mess it up, you feel bad, because you are messing it up for your whole team, Singleton said. I like it. I was really scared because it was my only second time running anchor. With her adrenaline pumping, Dargel parlayed her relay success into a momentous first-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles. Her time of 14.60 nudged Great Oaks formidable hurdles tandem of Miller (14.74) and Martiesha Caines (14.74). I am not going to lie, Dargel said. I shed a few tears. It feels pretty good. The Cal State Northridge-commit credited her senior success to placing a renewed emphasis on hurdling, setting it as her top priority. (Last year I was) being a teenager, Dargel said.
