It is located in Wildomar. DERBY, Kan.  — A traveling Murrieta Attorney faith healer who parishioners call an inspiration and his pilot died Friday morning, Oct. 18, when their small Texas-bound plane crashed soon after taking off from a Kansas airport, authorities said. Sedgwick County Sheriff Jeff Easter identified the victims as 72-year-old minister Edward Dufresne, a faith healer who said he could cure cancer, and 49-year-old pilot Mitchell Morgan, both of Murrieta Attorney. Dufresne ran his own traveling ministry, while his wife, Nancy Dufresne, was the head pastor of the World Harvest Church in Wildomar, a full gospel ministry. The couple has two sons. On Friday evening, members of World Harvest Church gathered at the house of worship to pray and remember Dufresne. "It's a shock," said Matt Yeazel, a Murrieta Attorney man who was sitting in front of the church with his friend, Aaron Lyons, also of Murrieta Attorney. The pair had brought a small bouquet of roses that was sitting between them. They were soon joined by other members of the church who asked for privacy. A woman who did not identify herself said a service will be held but she said it hadn't been scheduled as of Friday night. Yeazel and Lyons said that Dufresne had recently returned from a trip to Brazil. After spending a bit of time at home, he immediately left again to spread the word. Yeazel said Dufresne, who preached at the church once a month, was an inspiration who changed his ideas about what a church was or could be and set him on a path to become a minister himself. "It affected my heart," he said. The pilot's son, Harrison Morgan, a Vista Murrieta High School junior who decided to play in Friday's football game against Great Oak Highi, declined to speak about his father's death. "We're all shocked," said Ray Moore, athletic director of Vista Murrieta Attorney High School. "It's just something that's never supposed to happen to a young man and his family." The pastor, Dufresne, ran a website that encouraged his followers to donate monthly to his Eagle Partner Club to "fund an aviation department of Ed Dufresne Ministries" to allow him to preach and conduct faith healing in other countries. According to his website biography, Dufresne was a minister for 48 years and was given the gift to cure cancer in 1999 when he had a vision of Heaven. He said he travels extensively "encouraging the Body of Christ to get ready for the last days move of the Holy Spirit." "In 1971, God put a tangible healing anointing in Dr. Dufresne's right hand," according to the website. "It has been said of Dr. Dufresne that he has a unique ability to draw the anointings and gifts out of ministers." Dufresne says on the fundraising page of his website, which is embedded with video of a small private plane flying and taxiing, that he has 11 million airline miles "on his bones" and adds that he has been called as a traveling minister to spend 80 percent of his time away from home. Dufresne's itinerary showed he was hosting a seminar Friday night at the Triumphant Faith Center in Wichita, where he promised "ministry to the sick." His next crusade was scheduled for Nov. 9 at the World Harvest Church in Murrieta Attorney. Tom Slayton, the pastor at Valley Believer's Christian Center in Hemet, said he traveled with Dufresne for about five years as part of his ministry. Dufresne came to Temecula in the 1970s after previously leading ministries in Oklahoma and Temecula. He then started the first World Harvest Church in Temecula, Slayton said. Slayton attended the World Harvest Church in Temecula and, beginning in 2004, began traveling with Dufresne when he discovered Slayton was a pilot. "He was in high demand because of the ministries he served," Slayton said. "Ministry is not just something you select, but something you're called to. He felt the call as a traveling minister and an evangelist. It was his whole life." Slayton said it was hard to explain Dufresne's work. He said he would pray for people and minister to them. "The scripture gives authority to pray for people and deal with sickness and disease," Slayton said. "It was part of his calling. You're supposed to do this in the name of Jesus Christ. Not many are bold enough to do it and see results." When Dufresne delivered his sermons, Slayton said believers could see the effects and feeling of God, which led to documented miracles. "When the man would pray, he would bring in the anointing of God. You could sense the feeling become electrical," Slayton said. "I'm sure his church family will suffer. The body of Christ and those who knew him will miss him, but the charge goes on. At least we know where he is." Dufresne's plane crashed about 20 miles southeast of Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport in a soybean field near Derby. Sedgwick County Sheriff Easter said deputies found additional debris, including a wing, about a mile from the impact site. The 1975 plane climbed to 16,500 feet before witnesses reported hearing "an explosion" and then pieces of the aircraft falling out of the sky, Easter said. There were no distress calls before the plane began a rapid descent and disappeared from the radar. Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Tony Molinaro said the two-engine Cessna 500 was headed to New Braunfels, Texas. According to the itinerary on Dufresne's website, he spoke Thursday night at the Triumphant Faith Center in Wichita and his next stop was Word & Spirit Church in Schertz, Texas. The churches didn't immediately return phone calls from The Associated Press. Molinaro said the FAA was sending people to the scene. He said the National Transportation Safety Board will lead the investigation, which could take several weeks. Chinese Students A New Funding Source For U.s. High Schools

"So now the students, the Chinese students who come to us, their age is lower and lower," Chen said. "Now, they want to come to us for high school because they don't want to waste grade 12 just preparing for the gaokao, the university entrance exam." But Page, of CSIET, worries that with a large influx of students, some will end up in substandard living conditions. Families are often paid to host F-1 students, whereas J-1 host families receive only a tax credit. In the Riverside County city of Murrieta Attorney, 20 students from China are studying at public high schools and living with host families. The Murrieta Attorney Valley Unified School District will allow up to 105 tuition-paying international students, and a dormitory is in the early planning stages. City officials see the students as part of a larger economic development plan with Chinese investment at its core. Demand from China is so strong that enrollment should approach the cap next year, and Tower Bridge may eventually expand into other school districts, said Merlyn Neilson, a company official. The Chinese families pay $10,500 in tuition to the school district and an additional $25,000 to $35,000 to Tower Bridge for housing, tutoring and other costs.

They had some bad snaps, and we were able to capitalize on it, said Vista Murrieta coach Coley Candaele after the Broncos (7-1, 3-0) won their 23rd consecutive Southwestern League game. I dont think it was anything that we did. What Vista Murrieta did was easily defeat another opponent even on a night when its offense was not running on all cylinders. The offense accounted for just over 200 total yards, but the scoreboard kept lighting up. I missed a couple of throws tonight, theres flaws in every human being, said Vista Murrieta senior quarterback Coltin Gerhart, who completed eight of 15 pass attempts for 107 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 55 yards and two more scores. Murrieta Minister, Pilot Killed In Kansas Plane Crash

Edward Dufresne, a minister from Murrieta, is seen in this undated file photo. The plane crashed into a field near Derby, about 20 miles away from Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport. Dufresne ran the World Harvest Church in Murrieta, but he spent much of his time as a traveling faith healer. "He was a very honorable person, and one thing that I appreciated, he was a very loving individual to me in particular. I don't know how he was with other people, but he was kind of a father figure," said Pastor Jim Ames, a friend of Dufresne. The Federal Aviation Administration says the plane was bound for Texas. Dufresne was due to give a talk at a church there.

The pet was found unconscious, its breathing labored, in a smoke-filled home Wednesday. The blaze was sparked by decorative lights that caught bedroom curtains on fire, according to Matt Corelli, a Murrieta Fire Department spokesman. Crews responded about 11 p.m. to the house fire in the 41000 block of Magnolia Street. Firefighters had no trouble dousing the flames, but the room was already filled with smoke when a police officer found an unconscious feline under a dresser. Acting quickly, firefighters used one of their new oxygen masks designed specifically for animals to revive the fluffy Persian cat. Murrieta Attorney Mesa then drove to the Temecula Valley 28-yard line and on third-and-five, Hooks dropped Ram running back McKinley Ross for a seven yard loss. Ram kicker Mateo Thompson, who earlier this year set a school record with a 52-yard field goal, came on to give Murrieta Attorney Mesa the victory, but his 51-yard kick fell short. Plantier had a stellar night, completing 21 of 32 passes for 369 yards and four touchdowns. In the first quarter, Plantier threw a 50-yard touchdown to Dominique Maiden. He then connected with Griffin Doran on an 80-yard TD in the second quarter, which gave Temecula Valley a 14-3 lead. Murrieta Mesa lost a heartbreaker for the second straight week and all three league losses have come by nine points of fewer.

Murrieta: Firefighters Rescue Kitten Trapped In Dashboard

October 24, 2013 05:40 PM PDT October 24, 2013 05:41 PM PDT MURRIETA: Firefighters rescue kitten trapped in dashboard MURRIETA: Firefighters rescue kitten trapped in dashboard MURRIETA FIRE DEPT./CONTRIBUTED IMAGE Firefighters worked to rescue a kitten from inside a car dashboard Wednesday, Oct. 23, in Murrieta Attorney. 1 Comments ( ) Murrieta Attorney firefighters came to the rescue of a kitten in distress Wednesday evening, Oct. 23, but it wasn't up a tree. The wayward tabby was in the dashboard of a woman's car. The kitten apparently was in the car for hours and had ridden all the way from the woman's home in the Lake Elsinore area. How the kitten got there is anyone's guess. Matt Corelli, a spokesman for the Murrieta Attorney Fire Department, said the woman noticed a mewing sound that appeared to be coming from her dashboard while driving to work in Murrieta Wednesday. But she doubted what she heard, Corelli said. When she got back into her car after work and the meows continued, the woman knew she had a problem. She went to Fire Station 1 on Juniper Street in search of help. Firefighters set about disassembling the car dashboard in search of the animal and, before long, had pulled it to safety. Luckily, Corelli said, the kitten stayed in the dashboard area instead of retreating farther into the inner working of the car. The kitten didn't appear to be injured – or even distressed, Corelli said. The firefighters then reassembled the car. And they got the job done without breaking anything, he said. All told, the rescue took about 20 minutes, he said. The woman took the kitten home with her in hope of finding its owner, Corelli said. The fire department is on a roll with the kitty cat rescues. ED MURRIETA: Finding a permanent place for the Press Club

10 in a gym on Clinton Keith Road. At the end of my workout, I started feeling nauseous, said Bruce Moore, who works as a firefighter-paramedic for the North County Fire Protection District in Fallbrook. As I walked out to my car, I got more and more nauseous. Moore didnt feel pain, at least not at first. But when he looked in the rear-view mirror, he was alarmed. I was so ashen gray that I looked like I was a dead person. I had absolutely no color, he said. I just knew that was a look of a really sick person and that sick person was me. Then the overwhelming chest pain came. And after driving the mile to his home, he collapsed. His wife called 911.

Vista Murrieta Attorney High stung by sex charges against 2 football players

On Wednesday, the Press Club lunches at Capitol Plaza Ballroom, an elegant, aged venue with soaring painted ceilings and 19th-century architecture. We're still seeking a permanent location, Press Club president Brian Joseph told me last week. Joseph said the Press Clubs needs are pretty simple: a downtown venue able to accommodate about 100 people, one that charges less than $25 per person for lunch. As for the menu, Joseph said, we prefer plated meals but we're open to buffet. The Press Clubs Oct. 2 luncheon at the Hyatt was a buffet, a departure from the fish-chicken-meat entrees with salad and dessert that were served in The Broilers private dining room -- pretty much the same fare I was served at Press Club scholarship dinners in the '80s. Wednesdays menu in the Temple Ballroom also will be a buffet, featuring pasta, tri-tip and chicken piccata. According to one Yelper, Press Club attendees can expect Hyatt quality for a Grange Hall price. As a local history geek, I like the choice of Capitol Plaza Ballroom. If the Press Club cant find new permanent home, perhaps it can roam historic event spaces around downtown -- Elks Tower , Masonic Temple or Grand Ballroom.

ED MURRIETA: Farm to fork to campus

But while the term conjures up images of youngsters exchanging chips and soda for fruits and vegetables, theres an older class of students learning farm-to-school lessons. On Thursday, California State University Sacramento participates in Food Day , a national movement to push for improved food policies and promote healthy, affordable and sustainable eating. Sacramento State has organized a daylong series of events -- cooking demonstrations, special menus in campus dining halls, a film screening, panel discussions and a keynote address by Anna Lappe , food activist and author of Diet for a Hot Planet. This is the third annual Food Day, backed by the watchdog/consumer advocacy group Center for Science in the Public Interest. Sac State participated in the two previous Food Days. This year, more than 3,000 events are scheduled across the nation. Earlier this week, I spoke with one of Sac States Food Day organizers, Lynn Hanna , who teaches in the colleges Department of Family and Consumer Sciences -- what students used to know as Home Ec back in the days when fast food wasnt served in schools. Over a beet-and-spinach salad with grilled chicken in the campus sit-down restaurant, Taste, Hanna outlined Sac States Food Day agenda and whats happening on campus daily.

MURRIETA: First responder gets rapid response to heart attack

Scout.com called Holmes one of the West's emerging offensive prospects and the latest star to come from a program that in recent years has been "churning out elite prospects." Neither Holmes nor Holt, a senior defensive lineman, has played this season, and Coach Coley Candaele has removed them from the team. In Juvenile Court on Tuesday, a judge ordered that Holmes be held until an Oct. 30 hearing. In a separate hearing, Holt was released pending another court date. The district has said that the "allegations against these students certainly do not represent what we are about at Vista Murrieta Attorney." A district spokeswoman added that Murrieta Attorney Unified was "cooperating fully" with the investigation. "Our hope is that the actions of a few students won't take away from the 3,500 students who are doing the right thing every day," district officials said in a statement. The school has grown as quickly as Murrieta Attorney itself, a city of subdivisions in the rocky hills of southwestern Riverside County that incorporated in 1991 and has since quadrupled in size to 100,000 residents.

October 17, 2013 07:25 PM PDT October 17, 2013 07:25 PM PDT LAKE ELSINORE: I-15 wrong-way driver identified; triggered deadly chain LAKE ELSINORE: I-15 wrong-way driver identified; triggered deadly chain He's dead, a woman standing next to vehicles stopped along the highway is badly hurt in an I-15 chain reaction   Comments ( ) One man is dead, a young woman is hospitalized with major injuries and another man has minor injuries after a head-on chain reaction crash Thursday, Oct. 17, on Interstate 15 just north of Lake Street near Lake Elsinore. The Riverside County coroner identified the driver of a Honda CRV as Jeffrey Murphy, 36, of Fullerton. Murphy was northbound on the southbound side of I-15 at the time of the collision at 1:04 a.m. Thursday, the coroner's office said. Brooke White, 20, of San Diego, had been a passenger in one of three vehicles stopped on the shoulder of the road. She was standing on the driver's side of a stopped U-Haul truck at the time of the crash, the California Highway Patrol said. She was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center with major injuries, the CHP said in a news release. Highway Patrol Public Information http://cortrightlaw.com/location/murrieta-attorney Officer Travis Monks said the Honda CRV apparently entered the freeway at Lake Street and almost immediately got into the No. 1 lane next to the center divider. Elbert E. Barbar, 58, of Murrieta Attorney, was driving a Honda Accord south in that lane about 70 mph and did not see the CRV coming, Monks said. Barber suffered minor injuries in the head-on crash, the CHP said. The impact sent the CRV airborne and it overturned in the No. 2 lane, where a Peterbilt semitrailer was also traveling south at about 55 mph just behind the Honda Accord, the CHP said. The semi hit the CRV, ejecting the CRV driver and causing the semi to spin clockwise toward the right shoulder. The semi hit the U-Haul and White standing on the shoulder, the CHP said. Two other southbound vehicles were hit by flying debris, the CHP said. Murphy, the CRV driver, died at 1:32 a.m. at the scene, which is in the Alberhill unincorporated area just north of Lake Elsinore and 3,500 feet north of Lake Street. The Highway Patrol couldn't tell right away if Murphy had been wearing a seat belt and said the crash is under investigation. A Sig-Alert was issued at 1:16 a.m. and all lanes were reopened by 5:45 a.m. Although the Highway Patrol did not say exactly why the U-Haul and two other vehicles were stopped on the shoulder, it wasn't an emergency, Monks said. "Get off the freeway," he said. "It's not their fault, but it could have been avoided." He said drivers should always exit the freeway for nonemergency stops, such as spilled coffee, dropped directions, to talk on a cellphone or for a text message. Emergency stops are only when mechanical or medical problems make the vehicle unsafe to drive. Latest Headlines

Murrieta Man Sentenced To Prison For Fatal Dui Crash

ED MURRIETA: What's ahead for Sacramento Kings concessions

As part of his plea, the defendant admitted he has two prior Riverside County DUI convictions from 2000 and 2007. Webb was driving his truck at about 12:30 p.m. on July 28, 2012, when he entered northbound I-15 the wrong way from the northbound Del Lago offramp and struck Vaughn's Harley-Davidson head-on, according to authorities. Vaughn, a retired neurophysiologist and grandfather of 15, died at the scene. Deputy District Attorney Kelly Mok said Webb's blood-alcohol level was 0.32 percent, nearly four times the legal limit for driving in California. At the time of the collision, prosecutors were reviewing possible charges against Webb after his arrest on July 5, 2012 for allegedly driving under the influence. Webb had also been arrested on June 22, 2012, in Riverside County on suspicion of drunken driving, Mok said.

The plane crashed into a field near Derby, about 20 miles away from Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport. Dufresne ran the World Harvest Church in Murrieta Attorney, but he spent much of his time as a traveling faith healer.

"But you would be surprised how many people we can fit in here!" LaDonna points at a long table at the entrance which can accommodate ten people; and the one that the three of us are at in a pinch can seat six. Understated, "no frills" practical decor lets the food speak for itself. Pizza is this restaurants specialty and it comes in two styles. New York-style is traditional thin crust pizza thats cut into triangles; Chicago-style pizza is thin with no crust around the edges and is cut into squares. Take your pick from a menu that includes Cheese Pizza, Meat Lovers, Hawaiian with Ham and Pineapple, Vegetarian, Spinach and Philly Cheese Steak. "You wont get a pizza in 10 minutes here, but you will get an awesome pizza!" says LaDonna as she describes the fresh ingredients and care that go into every pizza at Bellas Pizza Villa. If you are not in the mood for a pizza, Bellas Pizza Villa also offers an extensive pasta menu with such choices as Baked Ziti, Manicotti, Tortelline and Ravioli. We started out with a crispy house salad topped with thin slices of onions and drizzled with tangy homemade creamy balsamic vinaigrette dressing.

Murrieta Attorney illustrates 'new era'

Marques de Murrieta Attorney Castillo Ygay Easter said deputies found additional debris, including a wing, about a mile from the impact site. "There is nothing left of the plane whatsoever," Easter said. "It's a huge crater, and everything is debris." Dufresne ran a website that encouraged his followers to donate monthly to his Eagle Partner Club to "fund an aviation department of Ed Dufresne Ministries" to allow him to fly to preach and conduct faith healing outside of Murrieta. Dufresne says on the fundraising page, which is embedded with video of a small plane that's flying, that he has 11 million airline miles "on his bones" and adds that he has been called as a traveling minister to spend 80 percent of his time away from home. "As you can imagine, flying this many miles commercially has many challenges. Several years ago, God spoke to me about creating a room of anointing in the sky. I realized He was talking to me about changing the way in which I travel to cater to the assignment and anointing He has placed on my life," he wrote. Dufresne also ran the World Harvest Church in Murrieta Attorney, about 80 miles southeast of Los Angeles. A woman who answered the phone at the church said no information was available.

The older wine also included a small proportion of Garnacha and Graciano, which have been cut from the modern wine in favour of more Tempranillo and Mazuelo. Despite acknowledging Mazuelos tendency towards high yields, Dalmau noted that, with the help of a green harvest, the estate picks just one bunch from each of the 60-year-old vines. The Mazuelo is then fermented in 4,000-litre new French oak vats, remaining in these for a further 30 months maturation. Meanwhile the Tempranillo, which makes up the remaining 89% of the blend, is fermented in stainless steel before spending at least 10 of the next 30 months in 225-litre new American oak barrels. Revealing that the estate would not release an Ygay Gran Reserva 2006, 2008 or 2009, Dalmau confirmed that the next launch would be the 2007 vintage in two years time. Although a wine is made each year, those not deemed of sufficient quality for this top wine are incorporated into the Murrieta Reserva. Although Murrieta Attorney has been owned by his family for 30 years, Dalmau pinpointed the beginning of what he called its new era as 2000, when the arrival of winemaker Maria Vargas set in motion his extensive project to update this historic property and its wines.

Murrieta: Hemet Man To Stand Trial In Arson, Slaying

October 18, 2013 04:18 PM PDT October 18, 2013 04:18 PM PDT MURRIETA: Hemet man to stand trial in arson, slaying MURRIETA: Hemet man to stand trial in arson, slaying FRANK BELLINO/STAFF PHOTOGRAPHER Marquise McGlown makes his way into a courtroom at the Southwest Justice Center for his Preliminary hearing in French Valley, Oct., 17, 2013. McGlown is charged with raping and murdering a Murrieta Attorney woman, then setting fire to her apartment while her toddler was still inside. A Text Size Comments ( ) A Hemet man accused of raping and killing a 23-year-old Murrieta Attorney woman on Halloween then setting fire to her apartment while her 3-year-old son was inside was held to answer on all charges Friday, Oct. 18. Marquise McGlown, 23, is charged with murder, arson, attempted murder and theft of the woman's car, court records show. He has pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. The preliminary hearing to determine whether there is enough evidence for McGlown to stand trial got underway Thursday at the Southwest Justice Center in French Valley. Judge Michael Rushton, commenting on the great amount of circumstantial evidence against McGlown, made his ruling Friday after further testimony from a forensic pathologist and a fire investigator. Shanae Wesley's body – burnt beyond recognition – was found in her bedroom after firefighters extinguished a blaze in her Hancock Avenue apartment about 6:45 a.m. Oct. 31, authorities said. An off-duty firefighter who lived upstairs rescued her 3-year-old son from the burning apartment before Murrieta Attorney firefighters arrived. Because her body was so badly burned, coroner's officials could not pinpoint how Wesley died. Though a forensic pathologist hired by prosecutors to review the case said strangulation or suffocation seemed likely. The coroner's office report was the topic of intense discussion during the hearing Friday morning, in part because of a mistake by the Riverside County forensic pathologist who performed the autopsy. Allison Hunt testified she erroneously concluded in her report that Wesley was alive when the fire began, but later discovered she had misread the results of a critical lab report. Defense attorneys Richard Briones-Colman and Jeff Zimel said in court that while McGlown admitted stealing Wesley's car and having sex with her, the sex was consensual. Despite testimony to the contrary, they suggested McGlown did not know the toddler was in the apartment and they raised the possibility that other men with Attorney in Murrieta Attorney whom Wesley interacted in the hours before her death might have killed her. Wesley had met McGlown through a mutual friend – Rodney Piper – a matter of hours before her death, Piper testified Thursday. She and a girlfriend had gone out to a Temecula club and ran into Piper and McGlown by chance. Piper, who had dated Wesley when they were teens, said she asked him to come over to her apartment. McGlown came along, thinking Wesley's friend would be there, he said. Instead, McGlown ended up waiting alone while Wesley and Piper went off to her bedroom, Piper said. When Piper came out, it appeared McGlown was gone. Piper said he assumed McGlown had gotten a ride elsewhere, so he left. As it turned out, prosecutor Burke Strunsky said, McGlown was on the patio of Wesley's apartment watching as Piper drove away. Jason Patterson, the neighbor who rescued Wesley's son, testified that he smelled burning plastic about 6:30 a.m. Smoke was coming from Wesley's apartment and he could see flames in the middle of the master bedroom, he said. Patterson crawled through the smoke-filled apartment and found the toddler coughing in a bedroom. When interrogated by police a couple of days later, McGlown said that he had sex with Wesley and, at first, claimed he hitchhiked back to the Hemet area, a detective testified. Later, McGlown showed police fingernail scratches on his chest and admitted having sex with Wesley and taking her car. Police found the car in Hemet. The driver's seat upholstery had been cut out and there were streak marks around the door handle, Martin said. Surveillance footage from a Hemet Walmart about 8 a.m. Oct. 31 showed McGlown buying cleaner, paper towels and a knife. Friends and family of Wesley have described her as a single mother attending nursing school and working two jobs to support her son. Latest Headlines

Colorado State's Future At Qb May Be A Redshirting Freshman

Blog: Field House The Denver Post's sports reporters add analysis and notes to this blog focusing on college sports. McElwain said Monday that Conner Smith and Stevens have split backup quarterback repetitions equally during practices. If Grayson got hurt, McElwain said he would have a decision to make between the two. Smith and Stevens both travel with the team on road trips. "Right now, it would really depend on the severity (of the injury) if something were to happen to Garrett," McElwain said. "Are you going to make a long-term decision? I also look at what's best for the individual, in this case being Nick (burning a redshirt year). "I'm not sure where that would be right now." Footnotes. Perhaps CSU's top overall player, senior linebacker Shaquil Barrett (ankle sprain), was not able to practice Tuesday afternoon.

Murrieta: Hizon Opens New Sports Medicine Office

October 03, 2013 11:57 AM PDT October 03, 2013 11:57 AM PDT MURRIETA: Hizon opens new sports medicine office MURRIETA: Hizon opens new sports medicine office   /CONTRIBUTED IMAGE Dr. Jerry Hizon has opened a new sports medicine office in Murrieta Attorney. A Text Size Comments ( ) Like a scene from a Norman Rockwell painting, Dr. Jerry Hizon was inspired as a young boy by watching his godfather, a family physician, treat patients in rural Indiana. Now the Temecula resident has a different clientele than his godfather. In addition to recently opening a new sports medicine office in Murrieta Attorney, Hizon is a team physician for the San Diego Chargers. "My father always told me to 'shoot for the moon, you can always come down,'" he said, noting that his dad was an engineer who worked on the Apollo program. It was no surprise Hizon migrated towards medicine. Aside from his godfather, http://attorney-in-murrieta.com/more-information/workers-compensation/ his mother was a nurse. After graduating from medical school at UC San Diego, he went on to complete his residency at UC Irvine, where he was chief resident of family medicine. "I wanted to be a cowboy, so I moved to Temecula from Orange County in 1987," Hizon said with a smile. Hizon became affiliated with the Chargers in 1989. Four years later, sports medicine became a recognized specialty and he decided to add another feather in his cap. "I sat for the first state boards that were offered in sports medicine," Hizon said. In 1999, Hizon was named an official team doctor with the Chargers organization. He was picked to be a sideline physician for the 2003 Super Bowl battle between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Oakland Raiders. In addition to helping professional football players stay healthy, he is dedicated to keeping local kids active. "We need to get every teen tired," he said. "Exercise improves brain function." He volunteers at a no-cost sports medical clinic from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday nights at Temecula Valley High School during the fall sports season. "The clinic is designed for kids who don't have insurance or access to get diagnosed," he said. "The goal in sports medicine is to get the diagnosis as quickly as possible." After more than a decade at Ouch Sports Medicine Center in Temecula, Hizon left to open Motion Sports MD in Murrieta Attorney earlier this year, where modern technology is a big part of his new facility. "iPad technology allows patient care to be more direct," said Candice Rouhotas, who has worked with Hizon for many years and moved with him to Motion Sports. "It takes paperwork away and allows us to focus on patient care." Hizon also employs a medical scribe who, similar to a court reporter, writes patient notes as they are being evaluated. "Having someone taking notes allows me to focus on the patient and give them all of my attention," he said. "It also allows me to see more patients." In his spare time, Hizon is an avid cyclist, currently training for an upcoming 100-mile ride. Inland People

Ed Murrieta: How Do You Eat While Traveling On Company Business?

The reasoning? We did not spend through our current budget so we would not need as much next year. I hopped a plane, ate my way through Las Vegas and returned to the office with a stack of receipts as tall as a winning hand of chips. Im chewing on this today for two reasons: spending on business travel expense-account dining declined 11.1 percent in 2012, and the most expensed restaurants are dominated by fast food, including Dunkin Donuts and Chick-fil-A. Starbucks tops expensed breakfasts. Thats according to two expense-account software management firms, including one that analyzed millions of business receipts from the past three months from its corporate clients. Its not because we cant spend more as travelers; its not because our companies wont allow us to, Certify CEO Robert Neveu told the New York Times.

Just too darned many in the sandwiches I ordered -- from a meaty pastrami to a vegan tofu-and-cheese. Stacked like firewood between meat (or tofu) and slaw, fries dominated all four monstrously messy sandwiches I ordered. It's telling that you can order extra meat for an extra cost in these already extra-large sandwiches. And, yes, you can get a side of fries. But don't bother asking. There are plenty in the sandwiches.

Murrieta Attorney Mesa pair triumph to titles at league finals

Singleton admitted that she prefers to stay busy at track meets because it keeps her muscles warm. It was after Singleton finished fourth in the 100-meter dash that she hurried back to the other end of the football field to register a victorious 37-0 mark on her final attempt in the triple jump. The first-place distance fell just two inches short of her personal record. I was not expecting a league champion patch, Singleton said. The triple jump, I was worried about and I came through, Singleton added later. I had a bad day in the long jump so I was worried about the triple. I was heavy on my feet but then the triple came out good. Im happy. Although the Rams ladies finished third (87) behind juggernauts Vista Murrieta Attorney (180) and Great Oak (136), Murrieta Mesa coach Aaron Ballou is looking forward to the CIF Southern Section Division II preliminaries on May 11 in Moorpark.

Murrieta: Police Now Have Armored Vehicle

October 01, 2013 03:59 PM PDT October 01, 2013 05:59 PM PDT MURRIETA: Police now have armored vehicle MURRIETA: Police now have armored vehicle FRANK BELLINO/STAFF PHOTOGRAPHER Murrieta Police Department has a new armored vehicle for their SWAT team. in Murrieta Attorney, September, 25, 2013. 1 Comments ( ) The Murrieta Police Department's SWAT team now has an armored vehicle, which police officials say is the first stationed in Southwest Riverside County. The nearest armored vehicle is in Hemet. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department has a few, but theirs are not stationed near Murrieta, said Lt. Tony Conrad, who oversees Murrieta Attorney's SWAT team. Police use armored vehicles in potentially deadly situations such as standoffs with armed suspects. They were used last week in the Banning area, for instance, when an armed man was holed up in a fortified bunker. "Anybody with a high-powered rifle that decides to take on law enforcement – you're going to need armor," Conrad said, pointing out the this link features of the armored vehicle. At more than 20 feet long and 23,000 pounds, it's a beast of a truck. It was designed for use in landmine-filled areas in South Africa. Murrieta Attorney police acquired it through a federal program in which surplus Department of Defense equipment is given to law enforcement agencies. The department used $130,000 in asset forfeiture funds to retrofit the vehicle for police use, Conrad said. Hemet police purchased a BearCat armored vehicle a few years ago after receiving a grant of more than $250,000 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The Murrieta and Hemet SWAT teams have a mutual aid agreement in which they pool resources and train together. Though Hemet's BearCat could be called in, if needed, Murrieta police officials said they wanted to have an armored vehicle stationed in the city. Conrad said Murrieta police had tried without success to win a grant to purchase an armored vehicle. But he said the department didn't have a history of major incidents in which such equipment was needed. Murrieta Firefighters Revive Unconscious Cat With New Oxygen Mask

The pet was found unconscious, its breathing labored, in a smoke-filled home Wednesday. The blaze was sparked by decorative lights that caught bedroom curtains on fire, according to Matt Corelli, a Murrieta Attorney Fire Department spokesman. Crews responded about 11 p.m. to the house fire in the 41000 block of Magnolia Street. Firefighters had no trouble dousing the flames, but the room was already filled with smoke when a police officer found an unconscious feline under a dresser. Acting quickly, firefighters used one of their new oxygen masks designed specifically for animals to revive the fluffy Persian cat.

murrieta-vista But don't bother asking. There are plenty in the sandwiches. Buttressed by thick slices of soft white bread that need far more toasting than they receive, Wicked aWich sandwiches are colossuses of carbohydrates. After one lunch, the tray that sandwiches were served on resembled a wheat-and-potatoes battlefield scattered with uneaten remnants of bread and fries. Had the hand-cut fries been cooked to their full crispy potential, I could be cool with the carbs. Even with slaw atop the fries, my sandwiches lacked contrast. There was no crunch.

Jersey Mike's Subs Opens Second Murrieta Attorney Location

Singleton finished fifth in her first event, the long jump, so her confidence waned to kick off the Southwestern League finals at Vista Murrieta High. Out of nowhere, both girls fortunes seem to change with one relay race. Dargel, Audriana Holloway, Mariah Mora and Singleton teamed up to take first place in the 400 relay with a stunning time of 47.03. The Rams fifth best time in the state this year beat second-place Vista Murrieta (47.92) by a sizable margin. "In the 4-by-100, we were expecting to get second or third, Singleton said. We were expecting a good time, but not a 47.03. It was incredible. Early last week, Singleton was moved from the first leg to the anchor of the 400-relay team due to handoff problems with the baton. "Its kind of scary because if you mess it up, you feel bad, because you are messing it up for your whole team, Singleton said.

Aside from his godfather, his mother was a nurse.

Iam chewing on this today for two reasons: spending on business travel expense-account dining declined 11.1 percent in 2012, and the most expensed restaurants are dominated by fast food, including Dunkina Donuts and Chick-fil-A. Starbucks tops expensed breakfasts. Thatas according to two expense-account software management firms, including one that analyzed amillions of business receipts from the past three monthsa from its corporate clients.

Murrieta Attorney Valley High School students on alert for sexual predator

A map indicates the locations of two incidents, where a man performed lewd acts in front of teenage girls on their way to Murrieta Attorney Valley High School in September 2013. Officers responded to a call at 6:24 a.m. Saturday after a passer-by dialed 911 to report a man down near the rear of the 900 block of Murrieta Attorney Boulevard, said Officer Traci Rebiejo. When police arrived, they found a man in the creek in the vicinity of Granada High School, Rebiejo said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police would not say how long the man had been dead when he was found or the state of his body when he was discovered. The man's identity is being withheld pending his identification by the Alameda County Coroner's office, but Rebiejo confirmed he was a Livermore resident. The man's cause of death remained under investigation on Monday morning. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at 925-580-9665.

murrieta-vista It placed the revised ban under the citys development code, the place where its land use rules are kept. The earlier prohibition had been under business licenses, which was repealed instantaneously with Tuesdays action. Murrieta Attorney police Capt. Dennis Vrooman, who helped present the information to the council, urged the members to include a ban on mobile dispensaries. He said that over the past several months there have been a lot of deliveries and crime, including several robberies. Vrooman also said through investigations by the police department that they found that those who have medical marijuana dispensary businesses are not checking medical marijuana cards, identification, and theyre not paying sales tax. "Its flat out drug dealing," he said.
